After retiring from as Director of Library Services for The Department of the Interior, Erik Bromberg moved to New Mexico and became a dealer of Southwest arts specializing in Hopi artwork. His goal of the book was to answer the many questions a collector would ask.  Information is provided on the role of Kachina dolls, how they are made, different styles being carved (through the 1980s) and information about collections. This volume has 122 color illustrations, drawings by Neil David, Sr. and Hopi and English names for the kachinas.
