This Koshare storyteller is busy holding a baby while one child sitting on one of her feet is playing a drum, another sitting on the other foot is holding a baby animal and another is climbing on her head.  Handmade by Lupe Lucero (Jemez/Laguna), the artist created this piece using local clay and natural pigments. This piece will be a great addition to any collection.

“Storytellers” are clay figures that depict the elders sharing and teaching culture and history through oral traditions with others, most often the younger generation. Children are often seen climbing on adult laps and sitting and listening with great interest and excitement through the narratives.
