This graceful bowl by Caroline Carpio features hook water design deeply carved out and accented beautifully with polished red clay and natural clay stippling dimension. The piece is made from natural clay that she collects and processes herself. Caroline creates exceptional pottery, combinind both polished and natural finished clay.Caroline makes both pottery and sculpture in a contemporary style using clay and bronze. When working in clay, she builds her pieces using a coil technique, her bronzes are cast from molds that were originally sculpted in clay. In speaking of her work, Caroline states that her pieces are "... a reflection of the stories from my Pueblo ancestors that inspire a new vision. It is a way to share part of my heritage through my creations, and yet, being mindful of our culture. I would like my work to preserve a story and educate who we are many generations from now..."
