This Ganado rug woven by Navajo artist Marian Bekaye. Ganado rugs are considered the quintessential Navajo rugs. This style was developed with the influence and guidance of renowned trader Juan Lorenzo Hubble in the 1870s. He encouraged the weavers he bought rugs from to use natural colors, with the exception of the deep red that has become known as "Ganado red."
