Common Threads: Pueblo and Navajo Textiles in the Southwest Museum is published in conjunction with an exhibit of the same title by the Southwest Museum and was presented from October 25, 1998 through September 26, 1999. The textiles featured in this exhibit and book tell a remarkable story of the evolution of the weavings of the Pueblo and Navajo weavers. Containing a retelling of how Spider Woman gave knowledge of weaving and brief histories of Pueblo and Navajo textiles, as well as the cultural interaction of these cultures, this book gives the reader a sound base. Photographs of weavings, the people and area bring the text to life.
