While the Blackfeet were a hunting people, they also have a well-earned reputation as artists and craftsmen. Written in 1945 by John C. Ewers, then Curator of the Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning, Montana, this book is a complete 1986 reprint with 77 illustrations and photographs, including one map. This study describes the four major crafts of the Blackfeet: skin preparation and sewing, painting, quillwork and beadwork.
