This fine skein willow basket is hand woven by Lakota artist Heidi Miller. Heidi became interested in weaving through her mother and aunt and began experimenting with different weaving techniques and materials. After discovering the huge variety of basketry styles and materials she became hooked on natural materials. Heidi studied under Herr Wilfreid Popp the former director of the National Basketry School in Lichtenfels, Germany and with Esme Hofman in Wapse, Netherlands.
