Dale Edaakie is well known for his impeccable work in a style known as overlay inlay. He first cut the design out of an upper layer of silver that is the overlaid onto a solid lower layer. Then he cut white mother of pearl to fit snugly into the cut out portions. After that, he engraved details into the stone and shell that give his pieces their distinction. He learned these techniques from his parents, master inlay jewelers Dennis and Nancy Edaakie.
