In honor of the Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Dale Edaakie made this magnificent bolo tie with the eagle from the Presidential Seal. The eagle is holding 4 arrows in its left foot and an olive branch in the right, and has a shield with red and white stripes below a field of blue. This is the perfect gift to commemorate this historic moment.
Dale is well known for his impeccable work in a style known as overlay inlay. He first cut the design out of an upper layer of silver that is the overlaid onto a solid lower layer. Then he cut dark brown penn shell, white and gold lip mother of pearl, coral and turquoise to fit snugly into the cut out portions. After that, he engraved details into the stone and shell that give his pieces their distinction. He learned these techniques from his parents, master inlay jewelers Dennis and Nancy Edaakie.
