Trees In A Circle: The Teec Nos Pos Story by Kerry Hannon
|
Item Number: TNPB001
In 1905, Hambleton Bridget Noel traveled to the Four Corners area with a wagon loaded with supplies in the hopes of trading with the Navajo people. With time and patience, he won their trust and established the Teec Nos Pos Trading Post, located at the head of a cottonwood-lined canyon. He married Eva Foutz in 1911, but in 1913, due to ill health was forced to more off the reservation. He sold the post to traders Bert Dustin and Al Foutz and since that time it has been in the Foutz family.
With a sense of adventure, this book chronicles the history in detail and also introduces the reader to the weavings of this area. Personal photographs and letters, along with photographs of the weavings and biographies of three weavers, makes this a wonderful addition to anyone who loves the weavings of this area.
