In this rug by Navajo weaver, Marie Begay, colorful birds surround a tree with spring leaves as a grey rabbit dashes beneath. A bee and two flowers are woven into the bottom corners adding to the sense of joy and abundance.

Tree of Life rugs were first seen in the early 1900s. The tree is surrounded by birds of many different colors.
