Sterling Silver & Copper Ceremonial Basket Earrings on Wires, 1", by Roland Begay (Navajo) SOLD

Roland Begay has used sterling silver and copper to recreate traditional Navajo wedding baskets in these lovely earrings.  Each coil of the baskets is stamped in by hand, and the silver is oxidized to give them the color variations seen in the real baskets.

Roland grew up spending his summers on a ranch, and went on to become a rodeo rider as a young man.  He learned to work silver and make saddles from his father, and has been making his distinctive jewelry since 1974.
