This book was written in conjunction with an exhibition at The National Museum of Women in the Arts. Focusing on six well-known matriarchs, including Lucy M. Lewis and Maria Martinez, including their family members who have followed in their footsteps, it presents their working methods, aesthetic visions and gives rare and surprisingly intimate glimpses into the fullfillment they gain from working clay into beautiful new forms.
