Pin/Pendant - Multi-Stone Inlay Dragonfly with Spiny Oyster Shell by Jim Poyer (Navajo) SOLD

Jim Poyer's use of clean lines and bright, contrasting colors make his jewelry a wonderful addition to any collection. This sleek dragonfly's upper wings are set with bands of orange spiny oyster shell, bright blue turquoise and black jet into which dots of silver have been inlaid. the lower wings are inlaid with orange spiny oyster shell.

For over twenty years, Jim had a country-western band, the "Jim Poyer Band", and one of the guitar players was Navajo inlay artist Jimmie Harrison.  When the band split up, Poyer went to work with his friend making jewelry.  Once he was working on his own, Jim Poyer developed a talent for striking color combinations and clean silver work that give his pieces their distinctive, contemporary look.
