Roland Begay has used sterling silver and copper to recreate a traditional Navajo wedding basket in this lovely pendant. Each coil of the basket is stamped in by hand, and the silver is oxidized to give it the color variations seen in the real baskets.
Roland grew up spending his summers on a ranch, and went on to become a rodeo rider as a young man. He learned to work silver and make saddles from his father, and has been making his distinctive jewelry since 1974.
