This necklace has a double sided mother of pearl corn maiden flanked by 22 ears of corn carved by reknowned Zuni artist Sandra Quandelacy.
Just as Indian corn comes in many colors, so do those on this necklace. They are made of turquoise, spiny oyster shell, jet, lapis, mother of pearl, pink mussel shell. Sandra has used inlaid dots of coral, turquoise and jet to highlight the two-sided maiden, and strung the necklace on a strand of heishi interspersed with turquoise, various shells.
