Necklace - Red Coral Squash Blossom by Earl Plummer (Navajo) SOLD

This astounding necklace by Earl Plummer features deep red coral set in five contemporary squash blossoms, strung on disitnctive flattened saucer rail beads alternating with smaller fluted beads, all in sterling silver. At first glance, the five blossoms resemble the najas that are usually found at the center of one of these necklaces, but on closer examination look more like stylized fleur-de-lis or perhaps upside down tulips.

Earl Plummer learned to make jewelry as a teenager by watching and learning from family members. Starting with simple stamp work, he continued perfecting his skills, learning to cut and set the high quality stones for which he is known today. He is inspired for his designs by observing nature, and has won many awards over the years, including the coveted "Artist of the Year for 2011" from the Indian Arts and Crafts Association.
