This elegant three tier sterling silver necklace is set with varying shapes of turquoise, gaspeite, purple spiny oyster shell, coral, denim lapis, and purple amethyst. The silver is all hand-fabricated with accents of chisel/line work to add dimension. Erick created this as a tribute to a three-tier design created by the late Kenneth Begay. Erick has created it with his own artistic vision, still carying on the idea that jewelry can be wearable art in an elegant and classic manner.

 

Erick Begay is one of today's top jewelers, creating classic and traditional work as well as contemporary designs. He has mastered many metalsmithing techniques including stampwork, overlay and tufa casting; he also is versatile with stone settings - setting stones in bezels; arranging stones in creative, raised inlay settings, and even in flat, channel inlay in an array of colors. His stonework is always accented by very interesting metalwork, ranging from smooth, shiny silver to heavy stamped or tufa cast work.
