Storyteller - Mudhead with Two Children by Tony Dallas (Hopi)

<< Previous in Pottery Next in Pottery >>
Price: $450.00
Item Number: RGP00350
This handmade mudhead has two children enjoying a story. The Mudheads are holding on to Hopi flat dolls and rattles as they listen to the storyteller.

Tony, who grew up at Hopi, moved to Cochiti after marriage, where his mother-in-law, a cousin of Helen Cordero, sparked his interest in making storytellers.  Reflecting on his Hopi heritage, he decided to make koshares and mudheads. Today Tony is considered one of the top artists in this genre, due to his precise details, impeccable finish and sense of humor.
