This charming doll depicts a Navajo lady in a traditional wearing blanket dress standing with a basket of corn. This doll shows a few of the weaving techniques that Beth Robertson uses in her dolls and artwork. The core of the body and the arms, face and hair are made of Alpaca wool and are needle-felted, a technique of fusing or blending of wool layers. The blanket, dress and basket are woven on an upright loom and the corn has been knitted.
Beth Robertson has been weaving since she was young, is fascinated with fiber arts and has experiemented and utilized many different weaving techniques in her art, including that of the traditional Navajo upright loom.
Doll stands 6 3/4" tall and is about 3 1/2" at the base
