This red bear with a fish on lap looks dashing it its vest and slacks while its two cubs are playfully slung over each shoulder. It is hand made of natural red clay and mineral slips by Dorothy Herrera of Cochiti Pueblo.
Carrying on a tradition she learned from her late mother, Mary Frances Herrera, Dorothy Herrera makes storytellers featuring charming people and whimsical animals, such as horses, cats and owls.
