Award-winning Cherokee potter Roberta Wallace was inspired by pottery found at the Spiro Mounds archeological site in eastern Oklahoma when she made this beautiful bowl. The outside is decorated with a raised flying serpent design, and painted with swirls to represent wind and dots representing rain. The inside has been painted yellow, and a leaf design incised along the scalloped rim. It took First Place in Traditional Pottery at the Red Earth Festival in 2001.
