Item Number: LBHBU006
In this fascinating buckle, Bruce Hodgins cast sterling silver in cuttlebone, giving it a surface that resembles the ripples in water or in sand. He then added a triangular piece of Montana agate, and a dot of bright green peridot set in a 14k gold bezel.
Bruce Hodgins's mother, Mary Hunt Dodge Hodgins, was related to the great Chee Dodge, the last official Head Chief of the Navajos, and first Tribal Chairman of the Navajo Tribe. His father worked as an educator and school principal at Hopi for 25 years, where Bruce learned to make jewelry from Hopi jeweler Sidney Secakuku. Today Bruce is known for using both clean, contemporary designs and traditional ones, for his impeccable work and for his use of unusual stones.
