Beaded & Quilled Barrette with Sweetgrass - Red, Orange & Brown by Hilde Barnes (Mohawk)

Hilde Barnes makes incomparable pieces combining beads, porcupine quills and sweetgrass. This bold barrette has a central design of orange and red triangles above and below a central yellow diamond, all on a background of dark gray flanked by a border of two shades of blue.  This is surrounded by a stepped pattern in the dark gray on a background of porcupine quills. The outside of the barrette is finished with braid of sweetgrass along the outer edge.
