Vivian Ross learned to make baskets from her mother, Anna Benson. Cedar is the basis for almost all of her baskets, that usually begin with a plaited center, and are accented with rows of twined grasses. Viv creates beautiful baskets from natural materials she gathers and prepares, spending months collecting, soaking and trimming the grasses and barks, and curing most of them for three to six months.
